Tour Hangover

Photos from The Big Picture

I got up early this morning, ready to head downstairs, make some Smooth Move (don’t laugh, its better than prunes) tea and settle in on the couch for some Tour…when I remembered that its over.

If there was one good thing about my crash, it was that I timed it with the tour.

So, now what?

~~

This blog is all about cycling and photography and sometimes those worlds collide and make beautiful things. Thanks to Beth, one of my photography links on the sidebar over there is The Big Picture from Boston.com. They update each day with large wonderful photos that are all great examples of photojournalism.

Well, I noticed that today’s update was a celebration of Tour photos. So, if you are feeling Tour withdrawals, its worth a little peek over there to check out the shots.

wet, muscle-y legs somehow make Monday OK! Yeah, I was missing Le Tour today, too. :(

Yes, fortuitous to be stuck at home during the Tour. Gave me something to look forward to each day. Sigh! Now to find another daily motivation, at least until the doc gives the OK to move a bit more freely on my own.

Somehow, while I admire the ripped nature of the legs I do not think I am quite as fond of them as the other commenters.

I had to watch the Today show this morning when I woke up. It was dumb. I actually left early for school.

I like the sunflower pics!

I have Graham Watson’s sunflowers print hanging up in my office, but it’s pretty cool seeing the photographers in the field popping up like so many groundhogs.

So… I was racing Pescadero, would be a little over a month ago now. I had gotten dropped and was attempting to hammer up the hills of the course with two other gals. A guy comes flying past us, either in front of or behind some presumably Cat 1, 2 or 3 field. He’s wearing a white kit. And has the most amazing pair of legs I’ve ever seen. And I loudly whisper: “wait, come back!” And then to my co-miserating riding partners: “ah, NOW I remember why I race.” Yeah, that calf picture is kind of like that… “wait, come back!”

Smooth Move? What’s wrong with that? It’s my drink of choice when I go out drinking with the girls. Of course my girls have blue hair and a night of drinking with them usually involves the bingo.

Crash? so sorry! Hope all is well.
