Camphone 11

Henry Coe State Park, Gilroy, CA.

Coe is no place to be hauling around 10 extra pounds of camera gear. So I only had my cell phone with me to take pictures with. This is a view near the top of Serpentine Trail. If you have ever climbed Serpentine, you will know why I welcomed the chance to stop and take a picture.

Henry Coe is the largest State Park in No. California and is magnificent in its vast open space wonder-ness. It is still a piece of what California used to be. It is also in danger of being closed as it is one of 48 parks slated to get the axe in Schwarzenegger’s budget proposal.

Yep, Gilroy Garlic Festival. What do you get when you mix 150,000 people, 100+ degree temps, cheap beer and stinky garlic? I have no idea, cuz I never go. But I do love me some garlic.

Beautiful photo! Also great to get the word out about those potential closures. What is that man on? If they're closed, who gets the land? The wild animals or the rapacious rich ones? Your KARMA Group
